Questions for Acosol:
- Financial Transparency:
- How much has Acosol spent on legal fees related to complaints or lawsuits about odors, including defending such complaints, annually, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- What has been Acosol’s total annual income from the Hidralia levy and other revenue sources, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- Funding Contributions:
- Has Acosol received any additional funding from governmental, European, or other external sources beyond the Hidralia levy? If so, how much was received, from which sources, for what purposes, and annually, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- Borrowing for Capital Investment:
- Has Acosol ever borrowed money to fund capital investment projects? If so, how much was borrowed, for which projects, and annually, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- If Acosol has not borrowed funds for capital investment, has the company explored such options? If so, what were the outcomes of those considerations?
- Developer Contributions and Advance Planning:
- When new developments are built in the area, are developers or local authorities required to provide funds to Acosol for upgrading the Estepona WWTP? If so, how much has been collected annually, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- What plans are made in advance of approving construction projects in the area to ensure that the Estepona WWTP can cope with the additional burden from new developments? Please provide any supporting documents or studies conducted during this time.
- Operational and Staffing:
- How many Acosol staff or contractors are employed at or near the Estepona WWTP? Have any of them formally complained about the smells or the impact on their working environment? If so, how many complaints have been made annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, and what actions have been taken?
- Have complaints about odors been lodged by schools or Parent Associations in the area? If so, how many complaints have been made annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, and what has been done to address them?
- Denouncements and Legal Complaints:
- Can Acosol provide details of any and all formal denouncements or legal complaints filed against the company related to odors or other issues, annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, including how each was resolved?
- Transparency and Accountability:
- Can Acosol disclose any board minutes or meeting records where odor issues have been discussed, including any plans or resolutions to address the problem, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- Beach Satellite Ventilation:
- Why is the ventilation or extraction system at the Beach Satellite building at Heaven Beach limited to one or two open windows, which directly face the Paseo? Have cost estimates been prepared for installing a proper odor exclusion or extraction system? If so, what are the costs, and why hasn’t such a system been implemented?
- Infrastructure and Repairs:
- How much has Acosol spent on infrastructure works to rectify problems, including the recently discovered broken pipe issue near the Guadalmansa river and outside IKOS? Please provide the total expenditure annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, as well as the dates when these issues were identified and resolved.
