Questions for the Local Authority:
- Legal and Financial Oversight:
- How much has the local authority spent on legal fees related to odour complaints or other legal matters concerning Acosol operations? Please provide the total expenditure annually, year by year, over the past 10 years.
- Has the local authority ever made formal representations to Acosol regarding odours from the Estepona WWTP? If so, how many times, over what period, and what actions have been taken in response to these representations?
- Funding Contributions:
- Has the local authority provided any additional financial support to Acosol from governmental, European, or other grants to address infrastructure or odour issues? If so, how much was allocated annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, and for what specific projects?
- Developer Obligations and Advance Planning:
- Are developers required to contribute financially to infrastructure improvements, including the Estepona WWTP, when new developments are built? If so, how much has been collected annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, and how was it spent?
- What measures are taken during the planning or approval stages of new developments to ensure that the Estepona WWTP has the capacity to handle the increased burden without creating issues like odours?
- Community Complaints:
- Have complaints about odours been lodged by schools, Parent Associations, or community groups? If so, how many complaints have been recorded annually, year by year, over the past 10 years, and what actions have been taken in response?
- Transparency in Governance:
- Can the local authority disclose any meeting records or minutes where Acosol odour issues were discussed or decisions regarding funding or upgrades were made, year by year, over the past 10 years?
- Beach Satellite and Paseo Issues:
- Was the local authority aware of the limited ventilation system at the Beach Satellite building on Heaven Beach? Have they conducted any assessments or reviews of the potential impact on residents and tourists along the Paseo? Please provide details of any assessments conducted over the past 10 years.
- Guadalmansa River and IKOS Repairs:
- What role did the local authority play in identifying and resolving the broken pipe issue near the Guadalmansa river and outside IKOS? Can they confirm the current status and provide costs incurred annually, year by year, over the past 10 years?
